Design and Build - Hato Paora College

School shade structures have been a big part of our schedules during the past few months.  This lunch area was designed and project managed by the Canvasland team.  The unique concrete block seats provide a comfortable area around the shaded koru pad. Pictures: Original concept drawing through to finished product.

Unique Design Inflatable

When asked to produce a completely inflatable climbing wall, we knew we had a challenge ahead of us.  The brief was simple - no steele frame, completely inflatable.  After months of testing and design the 9mtr high inflatable wall was a reality.  The climbing wall was featured at a recent IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks) trade show held in Las Vegas, where it won an Outstanding Achievement award.

In addition to the climbing wall, our client threw in another challenge.  This time we were to recreate a trapeze structure we had once made the crash beds for, only this time it also needed to be fully inflatable.  Like the climbing wall, the idea was to remove all steele rigging and replace it with inflatable structures.  Past experience with airtight boat pontoons helped in developing this unit.  Photo 1:  The original trapeze unit with steele rigging. North Street School - Shade Canopy

Given the importance for shade cover at school playgrounds, the request for more robust structures is fast becoming the norm for many education facilities in our region.  This Counties Canopy was recently installed at North Street School in Feilding.  The cleverly designed structure comes in a number of easy to fit components which holds a tensioned fitted PVC skin.

Tip Top Big Bikkie Tub

Keep an eye out for this giant 5mtr high "Big Bikkie" ice cream tub this summer.  This impressive looking inflatable was recently manufactured for Tip Top and will be used at a variety of promotional events around New Zealand this holiday season.

Merry Christmas

2007 has been a fantastic year for Canvasland.  Celebrating our 20th year in business would have to be the highlight, and our biggest achievement.  We have seen some fantastic projects pass through the plant and are looking forward to many more next year.  On behalf of the whole team, a huge thank you to all our suppliers and customers who made 07 what it was.  Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.
